Now it’s our turn! We find ourselves at our peak in every area of ministry. As our church continues to expand, so does our need for space to welcome and serve more people.   Have your voice heard! In October 2023, you voted on and unanimously approved our Building Expansion Team to determine how to expand our facilities to accommodate current and future growth. 

Oct 2024

In 2024, you voted on and unanimously approved the direction and priorities resulting from the work of our Building Expansion Team, commissioning them to work with architects to design a Master Plan and next steps. Those priorities include new spaces for our kids' ministries (including special needs and preteen ministries), youth/young adult/adult ministries, and Lifeline ministries. Phase One is estimated to be between $20 and $24 million.

Now

Now it is time to make the next bold step to build Phase One so we can continue to grow and make room for people in need of Jesus. All of our Leadership Teams (Building Expansion Team, Staff Executive Team, Leadership Advisory Team, and Finance Team) are unanimous in recommending the motion below.

Questions?

  • August 27-September 2.
  • Voting will take place in person via ballot during all three worship services August 27 and 31.  
  • Voting will be available online beginning Wednesday, August 27, and will remain an option until Tuesday, September 2.   
  • Each member can only cast one vote, either in person or online.  

All Midway Church members (those who have officially joined the church) are eligible to vote. If you're unsure about your membership status, contact Leslie Pair.

Current estimates place the total cost of the expansion at between $20 and $24 million. These estimates are not final numbers. Through the process, they will shift as bids come in and plans are finalized. We’ll continue to keep the church informed as we move through the process.

If the vote passes, our leadership teams will move forward with the expansion process. This means we will enter a season of raising funds through a church-wide generosity initiative called “NEXT.” Our Leadership Teams will finalize building plans with architects, begin construction, secure any necessary financing, and complete the project on behalf of Midway Church.

This October, we will launch a two-year church-wide generosity initiative called “NEXT.” This campaign will have two key goals. The primary goal is 100% participation, because we are better together! As we all take our NEXT step in our generosity journey, we will see how God uses us to accomplish His vision for His Church! The secondary goal is the financial goal. We will combine the amount committed by our church’s response to the NEXT initiative with the over $3 million we have already saved, plus upcoming Jesus’ Birthday Offering amounts, to put toward the expansion project. Any amount remaining will be financed and aggressively paid off in the years to follow through fundraising and Jesus’ Birthday Offerings.
