What is NEXT?

BEYOND. REACH. NEXT. These words have marked our prayers asking God to shape our future. God is blessing us beyond our wildest dreams, exponentially multiplying our reach, and leading us to what is next.  

For over 178 years, Midway people sacrificed so we could experience what God is doing today. We stand on the shoulders of their faithfulness — and now it’s our turn. Who will know Jesus because of our faith? How many generations will encounter the hope of Christ because of our generosity? 

The Gospel compels us to live with open hands. Jesus withheld nothing at the cross, so we should withhold nothing from Him. When we take steps of faith, God not only works in us — He works through us. And the impact reaches far beyond our lifetime. 

That’s what our NEXT initiative is all about. It’s not only about what God wants to do in and through Midway today, but also what He will do for generations to come.

This campaign isn't about new buildings. It's about the lives that will be changed IN those new buildings. The Next Campaign is all about people. Our primary goal is for our whole church to cross the threshold into generosity. Be praying, "God, what can you teach me about what it means to give? God, how can I give to others like you first gave to me?" When we step through the door, we'll be stepping into a GOD-SIZED future that will far outlast us. We're investing in a future FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.

MIDWAY MISSION | $12 Million Dollars
This represents our year-to-year Midway Budget for the next two years. Out of this number comes our continued ministry here and around the world.

MIDWAY EXPANSION | $10 Million Dollars
To accommodate growth and expand our reach, we need to build!  The estimated cost for this expansion is around $20 million. Raising $10 million over the next two years allows us to begin the work of expanding our kids, pre-teen, special needs, students, young adults, adults and even Lifeline Ministries.

This space includes a covered entrance into a brand new facility that will increase our capacity for all Next Generation ministries, as well as Special Needs and Adult Classrooms. This expansion also allows us to use our current Office Building as our new Lifeline Community Resource Center.

How this works...

At Midway Church, we believe all giving supports ONE MISSION: to unite all generations to go make disciples. For this next season of ministry expansion, all gifts to the NEXT Campaign and our regular tithe & offerings will go into a single fund, allowing us to celebrate the full impact of our generosity together as followers of Jesus. 

The NEXT Campaign will span two years. During this time, every gift will support the key priorities of this initiative: our Midway Mission budget as well as our Midway Expansion budget.

We’re inviting you to be a part of WHAT’S NEXT. This is a defining moment where generosity meets discipleship. By taking your greatest step of spiritual discipline, you help us take our greatest step of faith together as one church family.

FAQ

Nope! The Midway Mission and NEXT are one and the same. During this two-year period, every contribution to God through Midway Church is a contribution to our NEXT initiative. Every aspect of the ministry vision God is calling us towards for the next two years will be funded through NEXT. There will not be separate funds. Every gift given to Midway Church will go to the key components of this initiative; funding our annual budget, continuing to invest in our ongoing ministries, increasing our investment in our local and global mission, and further expanding our outreach and impact through facility expansion.

We are asking that everyone make a two-year commitment. The fulfillment period for your commitment will begin with our 2025 Jesus' Birthday offering on December 3rd & 7th and will culminate on Jesus' Birthday December 2027.

First and foremost, we ask that you pray and seek God’s leading on what He is asking of you. Prepare your heart to hear Him and be ready to respond. If you’re not already part of a Life Group, this is a great season to join one. Take time for personal reflection with God using the NEXT Campaign guide. Talk with your group, spouse, family, or friends about what this commitment could mean in this exciting season of your life. 

We are asking you to step into gospel-driven, surrendered generosity. Whatever God leads you to do, follow His leading. 

Finally, prepare to be amazed. We serve an incredible God, and we believe He will move in powerful ways as we come together through our NEXT commitments. Please mark your calendar for our Commitment Service on Nov 5th & 9th, and get ready for a life-changing worship service that will be remembered as a defining moment for both Midway Church and your own faith journey.

Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give towards NEXT. You might have stocks, property, or other stored resources that God has blessed you with in the past that He might be calling you to give out of during this time. 

NEXT is about the vision for our church and our personal discipleship in giving as followers of Jesus. We believe that the local church is one of the most compelling missions to give towards, and we would love for you to make Midway Church your home and join us in NEXT. We need you on the team!

NEXT was crafted specifically with you in mind. NEXT is a “one fund” generosity initiative, which is different from a traditional capital campaign in which you give an extra gift above and beyond your regular giving - thus creating two steps for people who aren’t yet giving. Remember, the primary goal of NEXT is that EVERYONE participates. We know God will do great things through this expansion, but we're most excited about what He will do in YOU!

People take spiritual steps at different times. Some begin praying before ever attending church. Others join a Life Group before they start attending! Giving is a spiritual step, and it happens at different times for different people. Jesus says, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:19). Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, we encourage you to join us in the next campaign. We'd also love to help you take those next steps in your faith journey. You can connect with us HERE.

The truth is that none of us know exactly what our future will hold. That’s the beauty and challenge of taking steps of faith! We want to encourage you that even if you’re not sure if you’ll be a part of Midway Church for the entire span of the next two years, we invite you to still commit to generosity and be a part of this life-changing endeavor God has for our church. If needed, you may modify your commitment at any time.

The NEXT Campaign is about your total, prioritized, gospel-driven generosity to God’s mission at Midway Church. We believe God calls us to action in times of hardship as much as He does in times of abundance, and that looks different for every person. The NEXT Campaign is about heart surrender and trusting the leading of the Holy Spirit, under any circumstance. Our challenge to everyone at Midway is to follow God’s lead, trust His provision, and participate at whatever level you feel called. For some, that may mean stepping out in faith and watching God do what seems impossible. Give with you feel led with a cheerful heart, not under compulsion, as God’s Word commands. Our prayer is 100% of us will take part in the NEXT Campaign so that together we can support, encourage, and pray for one another through this spiritually stretching season at Midway Church.
